Cloud Convert is South Africa’s first source of converting Sage Pastel to Xero. This is a fast and accurate way to upgrade your accounting to Xero without loosing any of your old data.

What gets converted?

CloudConvert will move the Chart of Accounts, Customer data, Supplier data and individual Transactions data for the current and previous accounting years from your existing accounting system to Xero. You then just pick up where you left off in your new online accounting system.

What are the procedures to get your data converted?

Inform CloudConvert that you would like to convert your current accounting program data to Xero. You will have to send them login details of your accounting profile or a backup where necessary. After you have informed them that they can start with the conversion, there is a turnaround time of  2 business days where you won’t be able to make any changes within your current accounting system. Thereafter they will send you your Xero profile with the converted data all setup and ready for you to continue where you left off.

Creating a Xero connection with any Expensify policy can be done in just a few clicks.

  1. In Expensify, head to the Connections tab.
  2. Select Connect to Xero, and enter your Xero login credentials.
  3. Select your Xero organization and your connection is ready to go.

How does it work with Xero?

You will be able to import your chart of accounts into SimplePay and then specify mappings from SimplePay’s accounts to your accounts in Xero.

Once you’ve enabled this integration, the Payment Runs screen will contain links for posting finalised payment runs to Xero. After clicking that, you will be prompted to import your chart of accounts and do the mapping.

How do you sync it with Xero?

You will need to ensure that Xero is correctly configured in order to be able to map accounts. You will also have to create certain accounts in Xero to be mapped to Simple Pay for the payroll transactions.
